HOW SUPPORTIVE AT COUNCIL?

Communiqué

The Communiqué is a gritty, "no holds barred" look at governance and leadership in our community. It aims to inform readers, provoke consideration of issues and facilitate civic debate in our Town on a continuous basis, rather than through one vote every four years. To get yourself on our distribution list, email the MMRA Board at info@mmra.ca, indicating in what part of Mississippi Mills you reside.

For the 2006 Municipal Election
bulletin

For the voters of Mississippi Mills we had taken some time to research and publish items of interest to residents, so that voters could focus on the issues and question the candidates. Still a good read!

bulletinCover Page and Candidates List
bulletinDowntown Almonte: forget the siege mentality
bulletinDe-amalgamation: let's talk
bulletinSewage treatment options
bulletinAlmonte's plan for growth
bulletinSunday hunting coming soon to rural areas
bulletinRegulating pesticides

The Almonte Gazette ran a blurb about the candidates in their Nov 7, 2006 issue. Click on the photo on the right to see what the Gazette said. Some stuff is not available: for example, Councillor Gillis replaced Councillor Levi who quit after a few months into the term. There was no coverage for acclaimed candidates, Councillors Hurrle and Ferguson, from Pakenham.
