Open letter to municipal candidates...
Dear all candidates for the municipal election,
We attend the C.S.S. (Community Support Services)* group and those of us in wheelchairs are interested in seeing more of the curbs on main street lowered so people who need a wheelchair or scooter to get around and can access all stores that we’d like to shop in. Besides this we were also interested in seeing the washrooms in stores and restaurants made larger so we can access them. We were also interested in seeing better maintenance done on sidewalks around town so we no longer have to deal with the cracks on the streets/sidewalks. Another thing we would like to see are buzzers put on the crosswalks so the blind know when to cross the street. We are interested in hearing an all-candidates debate on these issues. Please contact us (Community Support services 256-5469) if you have any questions.
Thank you for your consideration
